It’s not about big hats anymore at the CMA Awards.
According to Miley Cyrus, it’s all about the hair. "My daddy said that I should wear it up and put it in a ‘Get your hair as high and close to Jesus as possible’ type hairdo," said the Hannah Montana star. "I said, ‘Daddy, I don’t think I can get it any higher, but I did my best.’"The singer also said she would love for Barack Obama’s daughters to appear on her show. "I know they have a lot going on, but I think for them to come and hang out with normal kids would be fun.” The country music event was overflowing with stars including Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Carrie Underwood.

Miley To Strut Her Singing Stuff On ‘Dancing’ Finale?: She sings, she acts, she voices animated characters — and now, Miley Cyrus could be coming to the “Dancing With the Stars” finale show, according to her “Hannah Montana” co-star Cody Linley. “I think she’s performing on the final show,” Cody told OK! Magazine Tuesday. “I’m not sure.” Miley might not be booked for the “Dancing” finale, but Cody said he plans on giving her a personal message of encouragement. “I actually talked to her this morning and I’m going to be seeing her in Nashville because Julianne [Hough] and I are both going to be there for the Country Music Awards. I’m going to see Miley and I’m going to tell her –‘you definitely need to come!’” How could Miley refuse that?

The faithful started gathering, despite cool temperatures and the threat of rain, as early as 3:30 a.m. to see Miley Cyrus, star of Disney’s Hannah Montana and of the upcoming animated film Bolt, on today’s live broadcast of Good Morning America outside the Sommet Center downtown. Joining Cyrus on stage was her father, TV co-star and duet partner Billy Ray Cyrus.
Several hundred people in all, including dozens of adoring young girls and a family from as far away as Traverse City, Mich., would assemble on the plaza of the Sommet Center at the corner of Broadway and Fifth Avenue to witness the spectacle.
“I’m enormous excited,” shrieked seven-year-old Karina Thompson of Mt. Juliet shortly after sound check. Pointing to Karina’s three-year-old sister Bella, Thompson’s mother B.J. said, “This one didn’t go to sleep all last night.”
Renee and Billy Eldridge of Lebanon didn’t tell their two kids — Karen, 9, and Billy Jr., 7 — that they would be taking them to see the broadcast until they got them up for school this morning.
“They’ve got their backpacks in the car, ready to go to school as soon as it’s over,” said their mother.
Hosted by Good Morning America’s weather anchor Sam Champion, the show included two numbers from Miley Cyrus, including the keening crowd-pleaser “I Thought I Lost You,” and a rocking version of “Back to Tennessee” by her father Billy Ray. As father and daughter — both of whom will be presenters at the 42nd Annual Country Music Association Awards tonight — stood together onstage, Miley pointed to a sign made by a member of the crowd.
“Look at that mullet, man,” marveled Billy Ray when he saw the sign, which included a photo of her dad circa his 1992 breakthrough hit “Achy Breaky Heart.” “That was one heck of a pelt.”
Earlier in the broadcast, the elder Cyrus came out while Champion was interviewing Miley, who turns 16 on Nov. 23, about boyfriends and driving. In response to a question about how he feels about her getting her driver’s license, Dad said, “As long as she wears her seat belt it’s all right with me.”
After his daughter closed the Nashville portion of Good Morning America with “Simple Song,” a lurching rocker featuring a series of quiet piano interludes, nine-year-old Nonna Jones of Hendersonville proclaimed, “It was awesome. Hannah Montana was here and I got to be on TV.”

In a case of life kinda, sorta imitating art, the paparazzi caught Miley Cyrus while she was taking a break from filming her new music video for the single "Fly on the Wall," which, set sources confirm to E! News, includes scenes of "paparazzi chasing her."
"Miley always had [them] in mind when she wrote the song," says a source.
But the shutterbugs didn’t keep the tween queen from occassionally stepping out of the L.A. studio she was shooting at this weekend to not only spend time with the crew but to join them for lunch as well.
"She was cool," says an eyewitness. "Rather than eating by herself, she hung out with everyone else. She looked like she was having a good time."
The proof is in the peace sign.

A controversial episode of teen star Miley Cyrus’ hit show ‘Hannah Montana’ has been cancelled after Disney bosses were flooded with complaints from concerned parents.
The episode, titled No Sugar, Sugar, sees Cyrus’ character Hannah dealing with her pal’s diagnosis with diabetes.
The show was set to air in the U.S. on Sunday (09Nov08), but was yanked after it was previewed by parents in an on-demand version.
A spokesperson for the show tells the New York Daily News, "During the scriptwriting stage of the Hannah Montana episode in question, the matter of depicting a character with diabetes was reviewed by our Standards and Practices executives who consulted with medical experts to inform the story and ensure that it was told responsibly.
"Notwithstanding the measures we took, and based on the episode’s preview and early feedback from parents (who saw it on Subscription Video on Demand and/or mobile platforms), we removed the episode from Sunday’s schedule and are now reevaluating it."
